Hotels & Check-in

Reduce check-in surprises with written confirmation, passport-ready arrival details and fallbacks.

Choose your stay

Match the preparation to where you will sleep.

A hotel check-in and a stay in a home or private rental lead to different registration tasks. Start with the address type, then prepare the documents and fallback that fit it.

  1. Staying at a hotel

Confirm the exact property and arrival time in writing, use the same passport details as the booking and save the hotel name, address and phone number in Chinese. The hotel normally reports your accommodation information as part of check-in.

    Prepare for hotel check-in
  2. Staying at a home or other non-hotel address

Plan for you or your host to register the stay within 24 hours. The available online channel depends on the location, so keep the official in-person and 12367 routes available instead of assuming one app will work everywhere.

    Plan a non-hotel registration
  3. Preparing for a failed check-in

Keep the original passport, booking confirmation and platform support details accessible. For a late arrival, identify a staffed fallback property before you travel so a registration or booking problem does not leave you without a safe room.

Do not treat a platform listing as proof that the exact property can complete your arrival. Written confirmation and a realistic fallback are more useful than a generic label such as “foreign-friendly.”
